Tuttle W. Barksdale, Sr. started farming in the early 1950's in the western portion of Washington County. As the farming operation began to grow, so did the kaolin industry surrounding him. For many years there was a unique mix of agriculture and mining within this region of the state. As the 1980's approached, agriculture began a downward spiral, caused by adverse weather and a weak market. Fortunately for my dad, the mining industry had needs that he was able to satisfy in the field of reclamation. Over the next twenty years our focus became more dedicated to the mining industry.

As of January 1, 2007, we established a new corporate identity, Barksdale Contracting & Supply, Incorporated. Our focus is in site stabilization. At the present, we work on regular basis in the Southeastern United States. I am excited to offer these services and look forward to working with you in the future.
